Shipments climbed Kilimanjaro with lava during the rainy season. I flew to Nairobi in Kenya and spent a few cold days in the field of Nu (a relaxing oasis hidden from the bustle of the city) before boarding a bus for a tour of 6 hours across the border with Tanzania and then to Arusha, a vibrant and relatively quiet.
I found a company representative at the airport in Nairobi, which led me to my apartment in Nairobi. That’s where I met the rest of the group that I would spend the next week. All were on the bus together and Lava Expeditions also be assured that the immigration process to cross borders and avoid some of its inhabitants was unreliable under the best conditions.
Shortly after we arrived at our hotel in Arusha and met in the evening for dinner and drinks cold. Then we had more staff, including Taddeus Minja, the guiding principle, where climbing Kilimanjaro through generations of his family.
The next day, the staff washed Expeditions spent by each of our teams to double-check that he had the right clothes and enough for our expedition to Kilimanjaro. One person needed an extra fleece and some decided they needed a little more chocolate. No one forgot his hiking boots has been a blessing.
We have everything ready the next day, stumbling in the rain through the beauty of the forest moors, where lichens literally sink trees to the first camp, where we had a mountain view. I was in my element in the coming days as the scenery was amazing and so different every day. I suffered a bit on the day of the summit, not the disease, but the altitude zapping my energy and I felt very tired.
Lava Expeditions staff was very professional and gave me motivation and encouragement gave me endless turn one of the best memories I have so far, reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro in the blue sky with views breathtaking glacier.
I was prepared, knowledgeable, confident and enthusiastic about climbing Kilimanjaro and those feelings have not changed along my journey. Since the basic process of research and booking my trip to my time up and down the mountain and the way back in the UK, shipments of wash me very well attended.
